1946 г. — После плебисцита в Грецию возвращается Георг II.
1946—1949 гг. — Гражданская война.
1947 г. — Смерть короля Георга. Королем становится Павел.
1964 г. — Смерть короля Павла. Ему наследует Константин II.
1967 г. 21 апреля. — Военный переворот, правление хунты «черных полковников». Попытка короля Константина восстановить законную власть терпит неудачу, и он покидает страну.
1973 г. 17 ноября. — Жестоко подавлено восстание студентов Афинского политехникума. В память этого события террористическая «Группа 17» взяла свое название.
1974 г. — Президент Кипра Макариос смещен греческим режимом. Турецкие войска оккупировали северный Кипр. Коллапс греческой хунты. В июле Константин Караманлис возвращается из Парижа на должность премьер-министра.
В декабре после плебисцита упразднена монархия.
1980 г. — Караманлис становится президентом.
1981 г. — Андреас Папандреу (ПАСОК — Всегреческое социалистическое движение) становится премьер-министром.
2000 г. — Открывается афинское метро. Британский военный атташе убит «Группой 17».
